I must say in 564 weddings I’ve never seen a dj show like what you did. Ever. That’s a good thing. Done very well. All the black really hides you and doesn’t look like your trying to be the show. How you did your lighting, bubles, sound and MC you put the bride and groom first. Made them feel special. I got chills when you did the intro.
You would have loved, and done great job at a wedding I did at Joey’s in 1000 Island early this summer. The owners son was the groom. I think they had 200 guests ready to dance. The dj did a good job, but your set up would have been wild. I’m sure you do a lot of gigs.

Another weekend of great events!

This past weekend I did 2 weddings – one on Saturday in Clayton NY – great couple and great wedding wih so many compliments:

Sunday took us to Beardslee Castle in Little Falls where we do about 40 weddings a year and they highly recommend our service to brides:

Here is the email received from the mother of the bride:
Good Morning Kevin,

Well, the kids left yesterday to go back to South Carolina. So, it’s pretty quiet and lonely here now. But, it’s something I guess I will have to get use to. You were so fantastic!!!!!!!!!! The kids were so impressed with you and your style. People were going up to Tom and telling him how much they loved you. I had no idea how elaborate everything was going to be. You have the right to be proud of what you do. You are very impressive. But most of all, you are such a sweetheart! I can’t thank you enough!. What you did for those kids and for me is beyond words. I know you are very busy, but I hope to hear from you. It would be wonderful to stay in touch. Again, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You were great and I will definitely keep you in mind for anyone that would be looking for a DJ. I was extremely happy with the way the ceremony and the reception turned out, thank you.
Love,

WEDDING TIP OF THE DAY

Introductions can be a daunting task for any disc jockey as introducing many people, parents, grand parents, bridal party etc have sometimes tricky names so when you hire a professional MC-DJ you expect him to get it right!
There is nothing worse than hearing a name mispronounced right?
This is why you hire a professional MC to announce this properly:
Just a opinion – I read somewhere that some DJs think its a good idea to have you – yes you the bride and groom pre record introductions and then he plays the pre recorded introductions at your wedding making it personal – I think he is skipping his responsibilities and passing the responsibility to you – the MC is the person that does the introductions – that is what your paying him for right?
Would you mind if the caterer asked YOU to serve the salad course because it would make it more personal?
Same thing!

I am not discounting the idea, but personally think its not a good idea:

What happens on the night of the wedding when earlier in the day one of the bridal party drops out or is ill and there are changes?
Pre recorded?
No ambience and now problems as the bridal party has changed from when you originally recorded the introductions – or perhaps you are handed the microphone at the back of the line in the hallway and do it that way???
I think it is a bad idea BUT if a client wanted to do it I would but we have never yet had anyone ask….

4 weddings in a row !!!

Thursday July 3rd we started at the Lodge in Skaneateles for a wedding and it was great to see Paula the wedding coordinator at the Lodge again !
We would like to thank Paula and her staff for working with us and the excellent service and personal touches that they provide to clients.
It is noted that although many DJ Services have done weddings at the Lodge, it is the policy of the Lodge not to recommend any DJ Service due to their internal policy:I have personally been involved in many many weddings at the Lodge and have many coming up there in the near future – recently I was booked for a 2009 wedding at the Lodge !
The Lodge is a wonderful setting and the whole ambience and food is 10 out of 10 !I continue to refer couples to the Lodge.

Friday July 4th took us to Traditions at Links where we did another wedding and ended with a firework display outside !
Rick the owner has expanded the facility and this makes for excellent transitions and plenty of space:
We coordinated the music for the Ceremony outside using our high tech wireless transmitter speaker system so there are no cords or trailing ugly wires and also was able to plant speakers outside for the firework music!
We recently purchased 3 sets of remote transmitter sets and are now able to run up to 6-12 remote speakers throughout any spaces without the need for cords or wires running under doors or through windows.

Saturday night took us to Buffalo and the Grand Ballroom at the Statler were we set up on a huge stage and did our famous up lighting – we gave out so many business cards we nearly ran out!
Unfortunately the Statler and Buffalo venues do something really strange and ask couples to cut the cake after introductions – this means that NONE of the guests will ever be able to view the cake or appreciate all the hard work that was put into it whereas if cut and presented after dinner it can be viewed before and during dinner:
The cake is over estimated in importance and more couples now are configuring the cake cutting differently using a unique technique – I found this new technique in NYC and passed it to my clients:
There is NEVER ANY Waste using the new technique – EVER:
There is NEVER any cake on tables or half eaten cake laying about using the new technique – EVER:
This new technique allows you to cut the cake after dinner and have ZERO waste –
Many venues try to turn the wedding cake into a desert – very strange:

To learn about this NEW technique you would have to be either one of our clients or be a prospective client as we do not publish our idea’s and other techniques for others to mimic or copy – may sound silly to some but to us it means we remain cutting edge (no pun intended)

We do not know of anywhere – the knot, Fox TV or any wedding channel that knows about this new technique yet – this means it IS cutting edge !!

Arrived home at 5am Sunday morning!

Sunday July 6th for the Statler at Cornell University in Ithaca for the final wedding of 4 in a row !
Rick and Audrey are Doctors and we enjoyed immensely being involved in their special day with parents flying in from China.
The video montage was a huge hit !
We did our up lighting around the room and the wedding coordinator had never seen anything like it before – SEE PICTURES OF OUR UP LIGHTING ON OUR SYRACUSE PAGE:

Now for more rest !then another full weekend this weekend!
